Today was the day Francesca Battistelli made her debut performance in New York, NY. In case you missed it, you can catch the performance on her new website www.francescamusic.com. Our website has had lots of search requests over the last couple of weeks looking for Francesca. Unfortunately, Rhapsody still doesn't have her profile or new hit single I'm Letting Go available yet. Once it does I'll be sure to update the Top 20 (she's currently at #8) with the appropriate links. The good news is her new website has the single available for playback, download and a video of her performing the song live - Enjoy!
Her new album, My Paper Heart, is scheduled for release on July 22nd. You can click on the album art below to pre-order it for under $10.
I apologize for not posting in almost two weeks. My family and I just moved into a new house over the weekend of June 28th. I took last week off to get a jump on getting things unpacked and settled in. I wouldn't recommend moving during the summer in Arizona. It was about 113 degrees the day we moved! However, the Lord really blessed us with a great turnout of friends and new friends to help us with the move. There is no way my wife and I could have done it ourselves. It's amazing how much stuff you accumulate over the years. Then throw a couple kids into the mix and you've got a big move on your hands. Luckily, our new house was only a couple miles away so making multiple trips wasn't too bad.
Anyway, just wanted to let you know where I've been and that I'll start making regular posts again. My wife asked me why I started a new blog right before our move. As usual, I should have listened :-)
In case you haven't seen our Christian Top 20 Hits Widget, I've posted it below. You can add it to your blog, website, email or even your desktop! Click on the options button get the code. Enjoy!
I've got my eye on the new single from Brandon Heath. It started playing on Air1 recently and I really like it. It's called "Give me Your Eyes" and it's the first song on his new album called "What If We" due out on August 18th.
Unfortunately, it hasn't been released on Rhapsody yet. Once it does, I'll post it under Webmaster Picks so you can play it (unless it hits the top 20 first). In the meantime, I found this "video" so you can listen to it right now. For some reason the video portion isn't working but the sound is. Good enough to satisfy my itch to listen to it a few times ;-)
Third Day continues to hold the #1 spot this week with "Call My Name", a new single from their upcoming release "Revelation" due out on July 29th. Click here to pre-order "Revelation" today and get a FREE T-Shirt and instant MP3 download of "Call My Name".
The rest of the chart held pretty steady and included the return of two tracks, Switchfoot - "This is Home" and Newsboys - "Stay Strong". A new entry into the chart this week was MercyMe with "You Reign" at #17.
I'm still waiting for the release of Francesca Battistelli's "I'm Letting Go" on Rhapsody. Once it's released I'll be sure to update the website so it's available for play back.
If you haven't already noticed, there is a new feature on the website called "Send-A-Song". I had the idea after receiving an e-card from Dayspring one day. I thought to myself, instead of sending a greeting card, I could send a song of the visitor's choice and allow them to add a personalized message. This would be a great way to share God's word through music.
The process is fairly simple and anyone can send a song, even if they don't have an account. However, if you already have an account, your name and email address will be automatically filled in for you. As you are listening to a song and you think you would like to share it with someone, follow the steps below:
1. Click on the button for the song you want to send and select "Share This Song" (see screenshot)
2. Complete the form and type in a personal message.
3. Click "Submit" to immediately share your song and message.
That's it, you're done!
Your recipient will receive an email with a link to their personalized e-Song from you, including instructions. You will also receive a confirmation email with a link to your personalized e-Song.
Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Troy Setford and I'm the webmaster for www.christiantop20hits.com. You can find out a little more about me by visiting my About page. As you can see, I've decided to start a new blog as a companion to my website. This will be my first attempt at maintaining a blog, so please be nice as I get my feet wet.
My main goal is to encourage a sense of community among the visitors of my website by providing a platform to meet new people and discuss topics of interest around Christian music. I'm excited to make some new friends along the way and to see what kind of journey God takes us on. I will be posting as often as I can. I apologize on the lack of content at the moment, but I had to start somewhere.
I encourage you to introduce yourself and let me know what you think of the website and this blog. Feel free to share what you like or don't like. I promise to take the criticism well :-)
